Land of the Crooks

Land of the Crooks

A longtime underground favorite and arguably the most popular member of Brooklyn's extensive Boot Camp Clik, Sean Price has been getting busy ever since the mid-'90s, when he (then known as Ruck) debuted as one-half of Heltah Skeltah. Since 2005 he's released a gang of solo albums, including Monkey Barz, Jesus Price Supastar, and Mic Tyson, joined forces with a second supergroup (Random Axe alongside Black Milk and Guilty Simpson), and lent his distinctive, Brownsville-bred grimy vocals to innumerable other records as one of the most in-demand features in the game. On Land of the Crooks, he teams up with Australian producer/DJ M-Phazes, who provides a half-dozen rich tracks full of dramatic pianos, thunderous basslines, swinging horns, and bold drums. Guests include Roc Marciano, Billy Danze, DJ Babu, and more. It's another strong effort from Sean P; check out "Murdah Type Thinkin" (Small Professor Remix)" and "Dump in the Gut."
